Live to Love, Love to Live
A1 Print.
This piece draws inspiration from the iconic three horse tattoo, a classic American traditional flash design known as Pharaoh's Horses. Over time, the image has taken on a deeper meaning within tattoo culture, becoming a symbol of resilience, perseverance, and the quiet determination to keep moving forward, even when life feels determined to pull you under.
The horses charge relentlessly through crashing waves, embodying the instinct to survive the storm rather than surrender to it. They remind us that progress isn't always graceful; sometimes it's simply refusing to stop.
The accompanying quote comes from a Grime track, and the moment I heard it, it felt inseparable from the imagery. It speaks to a modern paradox: we spend so much of our lives chasing deadlines, ambitions, and the next milestone that we rarely stop to ask why we're running in the first place.
In a world that celebrates being busy, it's easy to mistake motion for meaning.
This work is an invitation to pause and reflect. Keep charging forward, but don't lose sight of what you're charging toward. Survival is important but living with purpose is something else entirely.
